Haverhill is a dynamic city with an urban structure that does not accommodate for the way in which the city currently functions. Through the utilization  of a water front development, I have proposed to provide the city with an  urban strategy that creates a designed place for Haverhill’s multitude of
events and seeks to regenerate Haverhill’s lost relationship with the Merrimack River.

Beginning with a cultural park and expanding from there, Haverhill’s existing cultural district begins to grow and populate the riverfront. The proposed pedestrian bridge seeks to establishes a physical and socio-economic connection between both sides of the river which aims to encourage a diversity in downtown Haverhill.

Through a series of smaller interventions, the boardwalk also extends further to introduce a new marina for transportation and recreational use, enabling a further enhancement of the current retail and grocery structure with the addition of a green roof and event space that seeks to increase the quality of life for Haverhill’s population.
