PLYWALL
Critic: Kevin Rothroe
Yale School of Architecture | 2016
Through the exploration of different fabrication techniques, my goal of this course was to mediate between two dimensional and three dimensional forms. Beginning with sculptural yarn models, I tested out different knotting techniques that would result in a stand alone, structural form when
hardened with glue. Transferring images of the model as a heightfield in Rhino, I was able to test out different densities and height variables to finalize a design for a full scale prototype of a paneling system. The end product was CNC’d into plywood to create a 3ft by 3ft panel.
